Day five: Great Salt Lake, SLC, Wyoming

In my original plan I didn't include Salt Lake City as a place to visit as I didn't think there was much to see there. I was wrong. The Great Salt Lake is beautiful, in spite of the wind we had there :) and downtown SLC is actually quite pretty for a big city, thanks mostly to the gardens and stuff the mormons put there. You have to give up the right to do pretty much everything when you go there (no smokes, no drinks, no drugs, no breathing... err wait)

I should have written down the names, I don't quite remember, I think that one is Antilope Island

The Tabernacle. We could step inside for a minute and look around, beautiful wooden decorations there and the organ is really impressive.

I then went on my merry way towards the plains of Wyoming.

a long road indeed

There are plains there

But there are also other plains

Still plains.

Totally ranch country there, there's cattle and wildlife up to the freeway shoulders. From then on my biggest fear until I arrived in Buffalo was to hit a deer.

At Casper I decided to go on to Buffalo. I was pushing a bit, I know, but I couldn't resist the full moon on the plains, and driving at night with just that light and the stars, windows open and Diana Krall jazz full blast was simply awesome.
