Day seventeen: visiting...
I was about to title this "Monterrey cont'd" but that title would apply to all other posts after that so I'll just leave it.
Today I went downtown with my sister to walk around and see stuff. Monterrey isn't really a nice city but from time to time you do get to see something interesting. plus they cleaned/built/reorganized quite a bit to welcome the Forum of World Cultures 2007, so it's not that bad.
the Alliance Française
This is a very spicy sauce and I put it all over my taco AND I LIKE IT THAT WAY
Big orange thingy with laser on top
Said laser is activated at night for a seemingly unimportant purpose (point at stuff, heh) but I'm sure it's really a MIND CONTROL DEVICE... *puts on tinfoil hat*
street and square
Guy on horse pointing finger in a dramatic pose
Church
If you squint you'll notice some of the figures up there are actual people
other places
Arriving at the Forum
FRESH. MIRACULOUS.
the Bellagio's are prettier :p (oh I'm bad)
Paseo de Santa Lucia
pwetty fowers
Those were placed on the other side of the canal so I don't have any info about it
Boatmusic
The Cerro de la Silla, symbol of Monterrey
same, zoomed out
These figures symbolize people from the artist's village who emigrated to the US. There are 2,501 statues. Every statue has a different face.
The Museo del Acero is located inside the old factory.
Tomorrow, ice skating!
