PCH and Monterey part one

The cabbie who took me to SFO gave me excellent advice to avoid road works and take the 101 to the 92 to connect to the PCH at Half Moon Bay. The weather was excellent and the ride to there and then Monterey was a breeze.

I had worries since a) it's the first time I drive in the US and b) it's the first time I drive an automatic, so I didn't really know what to expect. Well, undoubtedly auto is easier than stick, but in the beginning it takes some time to get used to it. As far as US driving is concerned, I'm still cautious but it went better than expected. Fortunately I have cruise control so for long drives I'll be able to forget the speed limit and focus on the rest.

Now here's my car for the next two weeks:
Molly

I give names to everything, so I decided to nickname it "Molly".

The Pacific Coast Highway, as great as advertised.

Pacific 2

Pacific 3

I didn't spend as much time as I had wanted at the MJF this evening as I forgot my raincoat at the motel and it started raining. Add to that the fact I had the brilliant European idea to walk to the festival, which took me 45 minutes...

In spite of that minor incident, I had a great time.

Jambalaya
Jambalaya time
I don't know if they're the best, but it's a damn fine jambalaya indeed, all spicy and hot.
I spoke with a guy from Louisiana who took the fried gator on a stick. Since everybody who tried says it tastes like chicken, I'll see for myself and have some tomorrow.

The name is "Along came Betty" and the music is a delight
